OS MARCADORES DISCURSIVOS NO LATIM: CONSIDERAÇÕES PRAGMÁTICAS E TEXTUAIS NA ARS MAIOR DE DONATO E NAS INSTITUTIONES GRAMMATICAE DE PRISCIANO
Abstract
ABSTRACT: Discourse Markers (DMs) can be defined as a wide range of verbal mechanisms playing pragmatic and textual roles within the text. They are represented by non-prototypical uses of conjunctions, prepositions and interjections. Their properties are detected in Latin analogous discourse samples by Kroon (1995, 1998), who detached a group of words which seemed to carry out the DMs functions: nam, enim, igitur, ergo, autem, vero and at. We aim at looking for the counterpart of such studies, analyzing the way as the pragmatic and textual functions of these words are taken into account along Donatus's and Priscian's grammar treatises.Downloads
