ARTE E RESISTÊNCIA: POSSIBILIDADES DE DIVULGAÇÃO CIENTÍFICA E CULTURAL A PARTIR DA MÚSICA BOCA DA NOITE

Art and Resistance: scientific and cultural communication possibilities through the song "Boca da Noite"

Abstract

The present work aims to discuss visions of nature raised from the song Boca da Noite, by Paulo Vanzolini and Toquinho, seeking to understand the potential that it brings us for critical reflection, adding our concerns of studying the sciences and resistance of national culture, with those presented as the motto of the 9th edition of the Science and Culture Dissemination Meeting (EDICC), “Occupy and Resist”. Attentive to the objective reality that forces us to take a critical look at the social standards that surround us and try to shape our existence, alienating us and keeping us submissive to the dominant neoliberal ideology, the music was analyzed in order to answer the following question: what is the vision of nature expressed in the music Boca da Noite and its possibilities for the dissemination of science and culture? The proposed methodological framework had a qualitative nature and the music was analyzed according to the content analysis methodology. Thus, it was possible to find two categories: “Nature and environment – water cycle” and “Man connected to nature”. It was observed that the proposed song had the potential to provoke discussions on subjects related to the study of biology, keeping a critical eye on the vision of nature present in the lyrics, while, at the same time, it has the potential to promote the dissemination of artistic works by relevance for Brazilian popular culture, as a way of (re)occupying the space of music as an artistic expression and (re)existing, or resisting, the cultural standardization movement.
