Abstract

This work aims to discuss the possibility of building interdisciplinary pedagogical practices involving art, science, history, letters, geography, sociology and politics, based on the poem “Resposta do Jeca Tatu” by Catulo da Paixão Cearense to enrich the learning process both in basic education and in initial teacher training. Poetry can be a path that contributes to interdisciplinary teaching, making learning more interesting, sensitive, human and reflective, allowing students to more easily identify the elements of reality and to participate more actively in the classes. Many researchers consider it important that interdisciplinarity be present in classrooms, but for that, teachers need to find ways to articulate theory and practice through interdisciplinarity, always respecting the specific contents of their specific area. The complexity of a poetic text can be the factor that favors the meeting point between disciplines, contributing to the construction of a school and pedagogical practices that form more critical and reflective subjects. Poetry then reveals this possibility, dealing with different themes in a single text. This art permeates aesthetics, somehow makes the reader enchanted with the verses, rhymes and stanzas, observing what the text reveals with responsibility. Given this, the present work explores the poem “Resposta do Jeca Tatu”, by the northeastern poet known as Catulo da Paixão Cearense. The ideas expressed here seek to provoke interdisciplinary discussions that we believe this text makes possible. The methodology adopted was bibliographical research, where references that address the concept of interdisciplinarity in teaching-learning processes along with poetic language were scrutinized. The poem “Resposta do Jeca Tatu” allows the reader to come across several themes that can be studied in depth within the various disciplines.
