Resumen

ABSTRACT: The article approaches Octavio Paz's critical work and recovers the tension between the cyclical temporalities of poetry and myth and the temporality of modern history in the work of the Mexican poet and essayist. As we recover the tension between two recurrent concepts in Paz's work - the concepts of analogy and irony-, we aim to reflect on the dialectics of time in his essays.
