Resumen

ABSTRACT: This paper is a study about the variation in the uses of the prepositions a, em and para in Brazilian Portuguese. It falls within the theoretical frame of Generative Grammar in its Model of Principles and Parameters (P&P) and the sociolinguistic framework proposed by Labov. What I intend to do in this research, more specifically, is to analyze the connection between these prepositions and their complements, considering their morphological, semantic and syntactic behavior
