Poema do eterno devir dos deuses e dos seres, as Metamorfoses de Ovídio entram abruptamente, a partir de seu Livro XI, num tempo "histórico", o da guerra de Troia e da fundação de Roma - isto é, Homero e Virgílio -, caminhando para a idade augústea, que é a do poeta.Procuro estudar, neste artigo, os jogos sutis que o poeta latino estabelece, no coração do Livro XI, com seus predecessores - não apenas Homero e Virgilio, mas também Catulo Apolônio de Rodes - modulando o registro épico, suas convenções e tópicas, num horizonte que é o da elegia erótica romana.References
