INTERTEXTO HOMÉRICO NA EPÍSTOLA I.2 DE HORÁCIO

Resumo

RESUMO: O presente trabalho tece observações que incentivem a leitura intertextual da epístola 2, do primeiro livro de epístolas de Horácio, a fim de evidenciar como o poeta latino se apropria de trechos do texto homérico para embasar e reforçar as exortações à virtude endereçadas ao jovem Lólio. Além do resgate das citações, cuja fonte é Homero, enfatizamos a mudança discursiva que há no uso exemplar da épica como ilustração epistolar. ABSTRACT: This article aims to present some observations which may guide and expand a reading particularly focused on intertextuality between Horace Epistle 2 (book I) and the Homeric Epic, beyond the explicit quotations made in this latin letter. Some words about the poetic form and style on latin versification will support and enhance our study. Furthermore we try to present how the epic speech is used as illustration for advices and exhortations addressed to Lolius, one of Horace’s young friends.
