UM ESTUDO SOBRE PRÁTICAS DE NUMERAMENTO-LETRAMENTO DE SURDOS: INVESTIGANDO QUESTÕES DE LINGUA(GEM), CULTURA(S) E IDENTIDADE(S)

RESUMO: Este trabalho foca as formas de participação em práticas de numeramento-letramento dos surdos de uma instituição escolar, localizada no estado de São Paulo. O objetivo do trabalho é analisar alguns dos significados produzidos pelos surdos em tais práticas, para que assim seja possível iniciar uma reflexão sobre a educação matemática dos mesmos. Para tanto, o trabalho segue uma abordagem qualitativa que tem por base as idéias apresentadas por Erickson (1984, 1989). O trabalho fundamenta-se em pressupostos teóricos que consubstanciam: o letramento, o numeramento, a Etnomatemática, e ainda questões sobre bilingüismo, identidade, cultura e representação. ABSTRACT: This study puts its focus on the ways of participation on practices of numeracy-literacy of the deaf in an institutional school, in the state of Sao Paulo. The purpose of this study is to analyze some of the meanings produced by the deaf within such practices, allowing us to begin a reflection about their mathematical education. This study follows a qualitative approach which has the basis of the ideas presented by Erickson (1984, 1989). This study is based on the theoretical assumptions: numeracy, literacy, Ethnomathematics and some issues about bilinguism, identity, culture and representation.
