A METÁFORA DA CAMINHADA: APROXIMAÇÕES E DISTANCIAMENTOS EM DOIS AUTOS (GIL VICENTE E JOÃO CABRAL DE MELO NETO)

Resumo: Pesquisa em desenvolvimento sobre o tema da viagem, com o foco na metáfora da caminhada. Estudo comparativo sobre a caminhada da personagem central em duas obras de autores e épocas distintas: Auto da Alma, de Gil Vicente, e Morte e Vida Severina, de João Cabral de Melo Neto. Refletimos sobre as aproximações e distanciamentos que há em cada obra, quanto a origem e destino da viagem e dificuldades e auxílios durante o percurso – como esses aspectos da viagem determinam a identidade do personagem-viajante e a construção de cada obra. Nossa hipótese é de que, apesar de claras aproximações formais e temáticas entre os autos, haja afastamentos significativos no tratamento do tema. Analisamos, portanto, a mudança significativa que ocorre na representação estética desse tema, utilizando as contribuições acerca dos conceitos de progresso e história (em Santo Agostinho, Kant e Walter Benjamin) para discutir essas alterações. Abstract: This research, a work in progress, is based on the theme of traveling and is focused on the metaphor of walking. It is a comparative study about the walk for two characters in two different plays: Auto da Alma, by Gil Vicente, and Morte e Vida Severina, by João Cabral de Melo Neto. We study the similarities and differences on each play, concerning the origin and destination of traveling and the aids and difficulties faced by the characters along the way. Therefore, we try to understand how these aspects determine the identity of the traveler and the construction of each project. We believe that despite the clear formal and thematic aproximation between the two works, there are significant changes in the aesthetic representation of this theme. In order to discuss these changes, we use the contributions on the concepts of progress and history by St. Augustine, Kant and Walter Benjamin.
